RACING SWINDLE.
-• (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Dunedin, last night. A special meeting of the committee of the Dunedin Jockey Club was held tonight to further consider the Vanilla case. A. McGuinness was before tho committee to give an explanation of his connection with the Vanilla affair. After hearing his evidence, and that of other witnesses, it was resolved to disqualify J. McGuinness for six months.

Preparations for the Eoyal visit are rapidly assuming shape. The Governments arch is well advanced, and other arches are well under way. Venetian masts are going up, and given anything like decent weather the line of route of the Royal procession will surpass anything yet seen in Dunedin.
