FEDERAL CEREMONIES.
NEW ZEALANDERS IN MELBOURNE. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Melbourne, May 8. The New Zealand Contingent arrived to-night by special train, and marched to camp. Received 11.22 p.m., May 3. The streets arc densely crowded. The stall of the principal railway stations is disorganised with the constant stream of sightseers from the country and neighboring States. An army of workmen is engaged night and day, in order to have everything ready by Monday. Many Now Zealand visitors have arrived. Given fine weather the pageant should bo an exceedingly fine one. One feature of the decorations is the number of arches. These decorations are, on the whole, more imposing than the Sydney ones, although not so graceful and artistic. Only a limited number of persons arc to be' permitted to witness tho actual landing, but the public will have the fullest opportunities of seeing the Royalties after entering the city by the Gateway and Princess Bridges. Mr Barton definitely states that the Federal tariff will bo dealt with this session. __
