DREDGING. (By Tolograph—Press Association.] Dunedin, last night. During the week ended to-day tho returns have been reported from 41 dredges, the total yield being 1018 oz 18dwt 9gr, or an average of 240 z per dredge. Additional returns are: Empire 88oz Odwt, Upper Wuipori 25 oz lOdwt, Matau 240 z, Evans’ Flat 15oz 12dwt, Reliance lloz 6dwt, Gabriel lloz Odwt. A SUICIDE. Amy Susan Heather, 21 years of age, committed suicide at Anderson’s Bay bridge to-day. She was seen in tho water by a butcher, and lie tried to aid her, but was unable to swim. He went to got a boat, but on returning there was no trace of the woman. Some of her clothes were found, and a letter to her mother, asking to bo forgiven. The girl had boon in bad health and despondent for some time. The body has not yet been recovered.
