To the Editor of the Trans. Sm,—l quite agree with “ Ratepayer ” in regard to the Mayoralty, excepting that I think the matter might now be allowed to stand over until next year. Wo are all thankful to the present Mayor, but the office is one that should not be mono: polised. This year I intend to abide by Mr Townley, but take this opportunity of stating that next year, if wo are all spared, I will cast in my hearty support with those who say let the office ' go round. None of these offices should he monopolised. There are the peculiar circumstances of a Harbor Board seat. Therefore let the position be clearly understood for noxtr year,—l am, etc., RESIDENT,
