Although from the list of the crew ns supplied to the Shipping Office it appears that several of the men had signed off lately, the names of tho ‘ officers were correct. PERIOD OF SUSPENSE. FEARS OF ANOTHER WRECK. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright Received slarch 29,1.17 a.m. Melbourne, slarch 28. The fate of the Federal is still unsolved. Arriving and departing vessels are instructed to keep a. sharp look-out. A steamer from Sydney to-day reports that she ran close in towards Gabo Island, and saw neither wreckage nor indications of survivors. The latest from the Gabo is that some wooden ship’s beams came ashore, which could not possibly have bo longed to the Federal. In some quarters the recovered body is supposed to be that of slr Henderson, chief officer of the Federal; others that it is the captain of the schooner Hawaiian Isles, which left Melbourne ten days ago. This adds the possibility of the latter’s wreck to the other uncertainties. Later evidence goes to show that the Louisa Lament was probably not in the vicinity of the Gabor
