SCHOOL PICNICS.
’* (To the Editor of The Times). g lßj —While all the country schools have been enjoying their picnics, it does not seem as if the children attending the town school are to be so fortunate. .They were, if you remember, promised a treat on the occasion of the Peace Celebrations, which circumstances have delayed. Could we not make an effort to give them a gathering after they have got their concert over —sav', on Easter Monday. I feel quite [certain the general public would be only too willing to assist, and a strong committee of ladies and gentlemen could be organised. If the weather were propitious, the children would thoroughly enjoy themselves. There may, of course, be objections I have not foreseen, but these need not include any exertion required, for I am sure the work would be one of pleasure,—l am, etc., R, N. Joh'ES.'
