THE BRIDGE.
(To the Editor of the Times.) Sir, —Whoever is responsible for the clos-' ing of the bridge on Friday is acting in a very inconsiderate way towards the settlers. Why has only a.day’s notice been given to back-country .. settlers ? There wits nothing to have prevented notice; of the closing of the bridge being advertised in Tuesday morning’s Times, which would have reached the Waimata Valley settlers by that day’s mail. The notice that has been given will not reach the Waimata people in time, there being no mails, and there must be someone responsible for the probable bringing of settlers many miles out of their road. If the' townspeople want' the country people to come in the latter should be treated fairly.—l am, eto., Sett&er,
