ArTER the ceremony at tho Becreation Ground yesterday morning, the visitors were entertained at lunch in several tents which had been erected in a comer of the ground. Shortly before ope o’clock ’they were driven 'to the Poverty Bay Turf Club’s races at Makaraka, where they spent the afternoon. They took a keen interest in tho sport, and although they could not be persuaded to make any investments qq thp'tqtalisatoiy they 'picked out theif ’fan'cics, and’ as’a rule were not very ~fur out when the "numbers went up, A few’minutes after five o’oloek tho visitors paraded on the racecourse, and headed by tho East Coast Mounted Bifies, returned to the Becreation Ground, Later in the evening they marched to the wharf and re-embarked, the Dalhousie leaving for Napier shortly after ten o’clock. At the sarno hour the Ministerial Party left the wharf in the Waihi for tho Tutanekai, and the latter vessel also left fqv Napier an hour later.
