IS A HERBALIST A CHEMIST?
[By Telegraph—Press Association.] . Wellington, last night.
In the Supreme Court to-day an action was heard in which Richard Ayres, of Cuba-street, claimed that the Pharmaceutical Society of New Zealand be ordered to register him a pharmaceutical chemist without examination. Plaintiff asserted that he had for the requisite time kept as owner an open shop as a dispensing and homoepathic chemist. The defendant Society replied that the plaintiff had carried on business as herbalist only, and was not a competent chemist. After evidence had been given Mr Justice Edwards reserved judgment. DANGEROUSLY ILL.
The Premier has received a cablegram to the effect that 2734 J. P. Roborts, N.Z. Mounted Infantry, is dangerously ill at Pretoria. VANCOUVER LINE. The Union Company’s steamer Moana will take up the Warrimoo’s running in the Vancouver-Australian trade.
