K FORCE MAY GO INTO ACTION SOON AFTER ARRIVAL
WELLINGTON. Dec. 2. — K Force were told yesterday by their commander Brigadier. R. S. Park, that they would probably see action soon after their arrival in Korea.
In his final addres to the force in New Zealand at Waiouru he said: “Before you are committed to action I must be certain that everv individual in this force knows his job and his responsibilities."
K Force would be responsble for its own area in Korea and must be prepared to deal with infiltrating Communist forces until help came along, he said.
Emphasising the need for men and weapons in Korea, the commander said he was told bv the commander of the 27th Infantry Brigade. Brigadier Coad: “You cannot come too quickly. We should like to have the 25-pounders now.”
