WANGANUI, Dee. I.—A car driven by a commercial traveller arrived in Wanganui from JRaetihi yesterday afternoon with bees under its bonnet. The traveller said that his car had been invaded by a swarm of bees near Obura,
He was speeding along comfortably, a cool flow of air through the open windscreen taking the edge off the afternoon heat. when suddenly about 100 bees swept in through the opening. He braked to an abrupt standstill and fled. Soon the invaders withdrew, hut there were battered bees in the, radiator and honey was smeared on the windscreen.— P.A.
