GISBORNE ARTISTS’ WORK ON EXHIBITION TO PUBLIC THIS WEEK

Aii exhibition of work by the members of the Gisborne branch of the Hawke’s Ba.y and East Coast Art Society which is open to the public in the Music Room. Palmerston Road, this week. Seascapes, landscapes, still life and portraits in water colour, oils, pastel and other mediums number over 100, and there are some outstanding exhibits. , , . The majority of landscapes are ot subjects in or near the Gisborne district. and for that reason attract additional interest. The work of artist members of the Gisborne branch of the society is ably represented, and work by some of the “student” members of the society is exhibited. H is one of the objects of the society to encourage student members to develop their talent so that they may attain “artist” status. The exhibition is open to the public from 12.30 p.m. to 5 p.m. and in the evening from 7.30 to 9 o'clock from today until Friday.
