“SINGING WRESTLER” WHO IS ALSO WEIGHT-LIFTER
Apart from his ability as a wrestler, the Australian professional, A 1 Costello, who meets Joe Campbell, of America, in the Opera House this evening is also an accomplished singer. He lias often entertained with a song or two before bouts in Australia, and a short time ago turned down an offer which would have enabled him to have had his voice trained.
Costello may also shortly turn his talents to screen acting for he has accepted a contract to appear as second lead to John Calvert in the Australian production, “The Lives of Burke and Wills.” This film is to be produced in Central Australia. Australian and New Zealand wrestling champion, Costello recently defended his title in a match with the New Zealand champion Ken Kenneth, with whom he wrestled a draw. Before coming to the Dominion he travelled 80.000 miles in Africa, where he proved a big drawcard. He is also a keen weight-lifter and a former Australian and New Zealand record-holder in the heavy-weight division.
