ANOTHER IDLE DAY ON LYTTELTON WHARVES

(P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, July 25. Except for the handling of mails, passengers’ luggage and cars and perishable goods proceeding by the inter-island steamer Wahine, no work was done on the Lyttelton waterfront yesterday, most of the watersiders having been put on penalty for refusing to work overtime on Friday evening and Saturday morning. Meetings of the Waterside Workers Union and the port committee were held in the morning and the dispute has been referred by the committee to the Waterfront Industry Commission m Wellington
