INCENDIARIST TOUCHED OFF MUNITIONS BLAST

LONDON, July 24,
The Prime Minister, Mr. C. R. Attlee, in a statement in the House of Commons today on the explosion in the ammunition barges at Portsmouth on July 14, said that the fire which led to the explosion was caused maliciously by a person or persons unknown. “Enough is known about the means employed to show that they were based on considerable scientific knowledge and were carefully calculated fqr their effect,'’ he added.
