U.S. Opposing U.N. Seat For Red China

(10 a.m.) WASHINGTON. July 23. The United States intends to fight any attempt to make Communist China a member of . the United Nations Security Council before the end of the Korean war. Diplomatic officials said yesterday that the United States previously announced it would vote against the admission of of Chinese Communists to replace the Chinese Nationalists but there has been no indication that the American Government will actively seek to defeat the move to seat the Communists.

Diplomatic officials said that America now believes the problem of who should represent China in the United Nations should not complicate the larger problem of coping with Communist aggression in Korea.
