Reds Building Up Air Strength

WASHINGTON. July 21

The United States Air Force headquarters reported signs that the North Koreans are building up their air force.

Briefing officers said that several Russian-made . Yak 9 fighters gave Superfortresses a “pretty good scrap” over the east coast of Korea on Thursday. The Superfortresses’ pilots also reported sighting two other flights of enemy fighters in the area.
