RED PINCERS OPENING ON FAR EAST: FORMOSA NEXT?
(N. 7. P.A.— Keuter —Copyright.) (10.30 a.m.) WASHING-TON, June 25. United States Government and diplomatic experts in Washington described the Korean war as the second stage of the Russian campaign to subjugate the entire Far East by means of puppet regimes. They said the first stage was the recent conquest of China through the Communist regime. The Russians are now pushing out from there a pincers movement against other Asiatics.
Experts said the drive into Korea was one of these. The other is pushing through Indo-China. The next big offensive probably will come against Formosa.
The United Press says that Australians and New Zealanders, remembering how the Japanese poured into the South Pacific after consolidating her hold on China, are becoming disturbed as they see the possibility of history repeating itself under Kremlin direction.
