U.S. SCIENTIST INDICTED ON PERJURY CHARGES

(10 a.m.) NEW YORK. June 23. The Grand Jury in Los Angeles today indicted Dr. Sidney Weinbaum, aged 52 a Californian Institute of Technology scientist, on eight counts or perjury and fraud. . The Government had acuscd Weinbaum of denying before taking a job in a secret jet propulsion laboratory, that he was a member of the Communist Party while, in fact, he was a member of the Communist professional unit. F. 8.1. agents arrested Weinbaum on June 16.
