IMMIGRATION OFFICERS TO BE REPLACED

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, June 24. Mr. D. A. Carty, district commissioner of apprenticeship, and Mr. R. A. Krebs, investigating officer, both of the Department of Labour and Employment, Wellington, will shortly go to London on secondment to the immigration branch of the High Commissioner’s office.

Messrs. Carty and Krebs will replace two officers who are returning to New Zealand on the completion of their secondment. This was announced last night by the Minister of Immigration, Mr. W. Sullivan.

Two other officers of the department, Messrs. L. I. Phillips, Wellington, and A. Munro, Dunedin, will leave at the same time. They will be additions to the London staff, which is now r required to handle an increasing volume of work following the Government’s decision to expand the immigration scheme.
