Matthews will play in the centre, and the Irish wing M. F. Lane will return after standing down for several matches because of injury. M. C. Thomas, the young Welshman, will also play for the first time since the injury he received against Otago.
The intention obviously is to try out players for the test next Saturday. The team is:
Full-back—W. B. Cleaver. Three-quarters.—M. F. Lane. B. L. Williams. J. Matthews, M. C. Thomas. Half-backs—l. J. Preece, W. R. Willis. Back-row.—T. L. Clifford.
