Cold War May Become Hot, Says Pope
(10 a.m.) VATICAN CITY, June 4 The Pope today issued a warning that the “ruinous cold war threatens to burst into an incomparably more disastrous hot and burning war.” called upon the “great human family” to unite in a common effort that would give countless families a fuller life. This, he said, would remove “one of the most preoccupying factors in the international situation —one that more than any other today feeds the cold war.”
His Holiness was addressing 200 delegates to the International Congress of Social Studies.
