Fertiliser Works For H.B.

Hopes were expressed at a meeting Ibis week of Central Hawke's Bay Federated Farmers that the Fast ‘ Coast fertiliser works would be under way in about two years. It was reported that plant and materials had been ordered and that about £186,000 had been subscribed. Another £60,000 was required from the farming community to be served by the works. The total cost would be about £400.000 and Bie output of fertiliser had been estimated at 180,000 tons a year. Plans, for the works included an aerodrome alongside from which planes taking part in aerial top-dressing would be able to operate, and also for the delivery of fertiliser by air, it was stated.
