H. 5.0.8. (A) TOO GOOD BUT B SIDE GETS 15 POINTS

Given time, the H. 5.0.8. (B) side, which played their second game against H. 5.0.8. (A) on Saturday, should shake down into a fair combination. They were beaten 30-15 in a free-scoring game, which, however, had few thrills. The winners had complete, control of the game, but were bustled into errors of which they are not usually guilty. The only effective counter the B team had to the superior weight of the opposing pack was the application of the loose style of game. This they did often to good effect. A strengthening of the defences at the centre and near the scrum should produce good results for H. 5.0.8. (B) backs. Their only try came from a good backline move in which each member of the chain handled, the winger. Williams scoring. The remaining points for H. 5.0.8. (B) were the result of penalty goals, three by S. Robb, who played at first five, and one by G. Allen. Tries for the A team were scored by ,T. Greig (2), B. Fitzpatrick (2), A. Judge. N. Kane, S. Lee and R. Prestqn. R. Cowley converted three of the tries to bring his total points of the season to 50. The referee was Mr, F. East.
