FLYING COUPLE'S BID FOR ROUNDWORLD RECORD

(10 a.m.) NEW YORK, April 1. Robert Dixby and his wife, _ Diana, have arrived at Cairo, completing the third leg of the proposed round-the-world flight. Earlier, they arrived at Paris from Newark. They left Burbank, California, on Friday in an attempt to boat the round-the-world record of 73hrs. smin. which the late Captain Bill Odom set in 1917. They are flying a converted British Mosquito and, assisted by tail winds and good weather, averaged 370 miles hourly in the flight to Newark. Their route is Paris, Cairo, Karachi, Calcutta and Tokyo back to San Francisco.
