Poroporo Valley Club Holds Successful Sports Meeting

Although the weather was threatening, with a few light showers, there was a good attendance at the sports held by the Poroporo Valley Sports Club at Tikitiki last Saturday.

Members of the committee were indefatigable in their efforts to make the sports a success and various competitions proved extremely popular. Good business was done at the canteen under the able supervision of Mrs. T Lynch, assisted by Mesdames S. Haig, T. Peperc, R. Crawford, T. Kururangi, M. Kururangi, T. Taiapa, L. Kohere, Pat Dewes, S. Moana, B. Katae, E. Katae, G. Taihukat, P. Karaka, K. Kaiwai and T. Wanoa.

In the evening following the sports an enjoyable dance was held, the music being supplied by Jacob Karaka's orchestra.
