Bushfires Rage Again In New South Wales
SYDNEY, Jan. 16,
Bushfires are raging over large areas of north-west New South Wales for the second time in a fortnight. A huge (ire. which devastated 70,000 acres of grazing country and burned to a point 45 miles east of Tibooburra was brought under control with the aid of a plane of the flying-doctor service. The pilot reconnoitred the blaze and radio signals directed fire fighters to the crucial points. An even bigger fire is burning 60 miles north of White Cliff,- near the north west corner of the State. Tcmoeratures in most towns in the area were over 100 on Saturday and no rain is yet in sight, though light falls are occurring along the coast.
