Road At Otoko In Rad Shape: New Formation Suggested
In view of a portion of the Fitzgerald Road at Otoko slipping badly into the Waihuka River and the fact that it is almost impossible to keep the road open, there is a possibility that part of the route will be permanently closed to traffic
A member of the Waikohu County, Mr. H J F. Tombleson, reported at yesterday’s meeting of the council that the ratepayers concerned were in favour of closing the centre portion of the highway provided an access route could bp formed to connect with the State highway at the southern end. The clerk. Mr. J. G. Appleton, was instructed to discuss the matter with the commissioner of Crown lands, and to investigate the possibility of new formation.
