(P.A.) WELLINGTON. Jan. 16. Youths who wish to fulfil their obligations under the Military Training Act in the R.N.Z.A.F. are required to complete 30 hours’ flying training under the voluntary air training corps scheme before entering the R.N.Z.A.F. station, Taieri, for 14 weeks’ full-time training. Emphasising this point, a spokesman at the Air Department said that it was hoped to complete preliminary flying training by the age of 171 years, the age on which registration was permissible under the Act:._ To achieve this aim it would be necessary in the majority of eases to commence voluntary flying training at the ago of 17. Trainees would be selected from school and town units of the A.T.C. Those interested should apply to join the A.T.C. as soon as possible.
