Queen an Honorary Fellow of College of Obstetricians

(11 a.m.) LONDON, Nov. 3. Queen Elizabeth was admitted today as an honorary fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists “for all she has done for British womanhood.” The president of the college. Sir William Gilliatt, who brought Princess Margaret and Prince Charles into the world, made the award. It was Sir William’s last act as president.

A few moments later he made British medical history by installing Professor Hilda Lloyd as his successor. She is the first woman to hold the office.
