“NO CONCESSIONS” TO EAST OR WEST, SAYS TITO
(10 a.m.) LONDON, Nov. 2. “There is no such thing as Titoism—it is just a word invented by our enemies.” Marsha! Tito told the Daily Herald's Central European correspondent who interviewed him in Belgrade. “It is not we who have theories. Ail we demand is full equality for all. full equality for all Socialist countries and be left alone to build socialism here. “The story that we wish to ally Yugoslavia with the West against the East is just one of the many lies we are fighting all the time. “We want better economic and political relations with East and West but it must be clearly understood that we are making no concessions to either side.
“We shall stick to our Socialist principles. If the West understands this attitude of ours and is ready to trade with us on a normal business footing without attempting to influence our policy, that is just what we want.” The corespondent said that Marshal Tito wants more visitors to enter • his country to see for themselves what is going on.
"They will see our many difficulties but also our steady progrpss,” he said. “They can learn the truth. That is all we want—not to make propaganda,” said Marshal Tito.
