“JAYCEES” ARRANGING PARADE OF GUYS

Guy Fawke’s Day celebrations for Saturday have been arranged on a big scale by the Gisborne Junior Chamber of Commerce. The programme will commence at 6.30 p.m. with a parade of guys for children from Holmes Motors, Grey Street, to Waikanae Beach. The guys will be set ablaze in a huge fire to be lit at 8 p.m. A good selection of fireworks has arrived from Auckland and these will be set off at the beach. Launches with magnesium flares in the Bay are to contribute to the display. The Gisborne City Band and the P.B. Highland Pipe Band also will be in attendance.
