WELLINGTON—SYDNEY FLYING-BOAT SERVICE EXPECTED IN APRIL

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, Nov. 1. The Tasman Empire Airways organisation is expected to begin a regular passenger service between Evans Bay, Wellington, and Rose Bay. Sydney, ;arly next April. When the Evans Bay service is begun Wellington will take its place in the air service triangle with Sydney as the apex and Auckland as the northern point of the oase. Though Auckland will remain indefinitely the main New Zealand terminal, T.E.A.L. Will spend about 115,000 on the' installation of landing and passenger-handling facilities at Evans Bay. No definite schedule has yet been announced for the tringular service. The plan is roughly that any one of the Solents which should then be in aommission will leave Auckland at mid-day for Sydney, depart from there for Wellington at midnight, and leave an the return flight to Sydney the following mid-day. It is probable that the direct service between Auckland and Sydney will be maintained. There will Pe no Solent service between Welling:on and Auckland, the distance being regarded as uneconomic for such aircraft.
