The Scottish clan Chattan Association, of which he is a life member, notified Mr. George Bernard Shaw of a dinner and dance which the. association is holding in London on November 11 but Mr. Shaw will not be there. His reply in his own handwriting on a postekrd reads: “Please note I am in mv ninety-fourth vear and stop bothering me with ridiculous invitations to dance Scottish reels and the like. Dine and dance as much as you like but let me alone.” G.B.S.
