FLOWERS FOR BRISBANE Flowers picked in Wellington on Monday morning will be on display at the Chelsea Flower Show in Brisbane this afternoon. The exhibits, which included daffodils, hyacinths, cyclamen, camellias, and various kinds of apple blossom and manuka, were flown to Auckland on Monday and continued their journey to Australia by air yesterday. POWER CONSUMPTION RISING. Consumption of electric power in the North Island continues to increase. Last week’s consumption u»as 5.92 per cent- above the allocation, the electricity controller, Mr. A. E. Davenport, said in Wellington on Monday. "From now till the end of the year the aggregate allocation decreases week by week and the total consumption should follow the same trend,” Mr. Davenport said. “With the coming of warmer weather, it is expected that the supply authorities will be able to keep within their allocations.”
