The death is announced of the Speaker of the Tasmanian House of Assembly, Mr. P. P. Pike.

Advice has been received in Wellington by the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company of the recent deatli in London of Mr John MacMillan, formerly chairman of that company.—P.A.
