SALE OF WELL-KNOWN WHATATUTU STATION APPROVED

The sale of Arowhana station, in the Whatatutu district, from the estate of the late Mr. W. D. Lysnar to a private company was approved by the Gisborne Land Valuation Court at its sitting this week.

Earlier the court had fixed the value of the 7780 acres of land comprising the station at £38,244 as the basis of a sale.

It is understood that the purchasers also will be acquiring the station stock and plant. Included in other farming properties approved was the sale cf a farmlet in Whataupoko consisting of 9ac. Ord. 32p„ at £340.

The court approved the transfer of a 21-year leasehold in respect of a farm of 31ac. 3rd. 3pc. at Ormond, at £B3 7s Gd per annum. Other transactions approved were:— Houses—Perry Street, 31pcs., £1550; Ford Street, Opotiki, 2rds., £1150; Stafford Street, 27pcs., £1000; Aberdeen Road, 36pcs., £1350; Fox Street, lrd., £9OO.
