Three Little Pigs ...
(11 a.m.) SYDNEY, Sept. 3. Three little white pigs with pink snouts and a tin tank about a foot deep may be the answer to the mystery which puzzled Kempsey residents since last Sunday.
At the height of the flood last Saturday, three people claimed they saw three children in a tea chest floating down the river. One of the witnesses said he saw a child wave a hand and heard a call for help, but police inquiries since Monday have not revealed any children missing.
Yesterday the police interviewed a man at a village about six miles below Kempsey. He said that last Sunday he heard pigs squealing and saw three little white pigs on debris. Nearby was an old milk vat. 3ft. by 2ft. by Ift.
The police now believe the people who saw the pigs floating down the flooded river in the vat mistook them for children.
