GISBORNE CRAWLER TRACTORS

The fact that there have been no recent crawler tractor allocations to this district was the subject of a report by the provincial president, Mr. S. McGuinness, to a provincial executive meeting of Federated Farmers yesterday.

He said the situation had its difficulties for contractors and others awaiting heavy equipment of the type from dollar sources. The position was, apparently, that crawler tractors were not in good supply at present and Gisborne’s comparatively slight demand in the overall picture put the district in an unfavourable situation as regards allocations. Efforts still were being made, however, to get satisfaction for the applicants.
