Co-ordination of the facilities in Auckland for looking after old people unable to care for themselves is expected to result from a meeting held last night convened by the Auckland Hospital Board. , „ ... The representatives of all the institutions convened agreed to form a working committee. Proposals will be put before a public meeting. The Auckland Hospital Board chairman Mr. J. Grierson, told the meeting last ’night that the problem must be solved with a long-distance policy. The admission of infirm people to institutions was a national as well as a civic problem. “Social security has engendered a feeling that when people become a burden they should be looked after by the State or in homes,” he said.
