Tlie new Soviet Ambassador t.o New Zealand, Mr. Alexandrov, who was_ a member of the staff of the Soviet Legation in Canberra in 1943 and 1944, spent most of the voyage from London in his cabin, according to passengers on the Stratheden which has arrived in Melbourne. When asked by a reporter whether he was happy to be back in Australia, the diplomat said: "I am here because I am sent- 1 am sent to many places in my diplomatic career. So I go because I am sent."
