GENERAL CLAY LEAVES GERMANY
BERLIN, May 16, General Lucius Clay, the retiring commander of the American forces ,in Europe, left Germany today for the United States. He completed 26 months as Military Governor of Germany and United States Commander. The British, American, French and German official delegations saw him leave the Templehof aerodrome with distress. Lieut,-General C. R. Iluegner will act as American military governor and Commander-in-Chief pending the apDointment of General Clay’s successor.
