WOKANUI NEARS JOURNEY’S END
The coaster Wokanui, employed in the task of towing the stripped-down hull of the Paroto from Auckland to Wellington, is nearing the end of her journey- She was off Gisborne at about six o’clock last evening, but instead of calling in here as arranged continued on her way, taking advantage of the fine weather. At eight o’clock this morning the two vessels were off Cape Kidnappers, and they expect to reach Wellington tomorrow night. In the earlier stages of her journey the Wokanui, after reaching White Island, was forced by bad weather and engine trouble to return to Tauranga, where she was delayed for a week.
