CHINESE OFFER OLIVE BRANCH WITH WARNING

SHANGHAI, May 8. Tha acting President, General Li Tsung-Jen, today offered the semblance of an olive branch to the Communists. In a public statement, generally conciliatory in tone, he said it was still not too late to end the civil war.
