TWENTY-TWO JOIN IN RUN BY HARRIERS
The Gisborne Y.M.C.A. Harrier Club held its fourth run of the season on Saturday. Twenty-two runners took Dart. The course covered was from the Y.M.C.A. to the abattoirs via the beach and back to the starting point via Lytton and Childers roads, a distance of approximately five miles. A scratch run-in of one and a quarter miles was held in preparation for next Saturday's scaled handicap of three and one-eighth miles. The placing* were: D. Hawkins. 1: P. Pollard. 2: B. Smith. 2: J. McKav, 4; A. Weatherley. 5; P. Kelly. 6. The colts had a run of two and a-half miles. All are showing improved form. In a short run-in T. Grogan, R. Williams and A. McGuinness finished first, second and third places respectively.
