(P.A.) NAPIER, April 16. An eight-year-old girl who swallowed the top of a thermometer case was admitted to Napier Hospital last night, but was immediately rushed by ambulance to Palmerston North Hospital for an emergency operation.

She was Margaret Anne Fleming, Wellington, who has been holidaying in Hastings. An X-ray at Napier Hospital revealed the thermometer case caught near the entrance to the lung.
