TURF CLUB DATES: MAY MEETING NOW IN LAST TWO WEEKS

The Poverty Bay Turf Club executive has received advice that the Racing Conference has approved, with the sanction of the Minister of Internal Affairs, an adjustment of the dates originally allotted for the May fixture of the club.

A number of club members had recently pointed out that the date fixed for the opening of the shooting season coincided with the first day of the club’s autumn fixture. May 14. In order to avoid a clash of sporting interests the club executive submitted a proposal to the Racing Conference for a change of its racing days, and has now received notice that the meeting has been set down for May 21 and 28, in place of May 14 and 21.
