GISBORNE R.S.A. MEMBERSHIP

Financial membership of the Gisborne Returned Services’ Association as at March 31, 1949, stood at 2704, including 1998 town members and 706 affiliated through Coast and country subassociations, it was reported at a meeting of the district executive held on Wednesday evening. Despite a number of deaths during the year, the Digger group maintained its strength well, 887 of the First N.Z.E.F. veterans being recorded as financial. , , , , Mr. A. H. Miller, secretary, stated that a number of late subscriptions had been received since the close of the financial year, and that a stream of applications for the new colour attachment for the official badge, indicating financial good standing for 1949-50, was being dealt with by the office staff.
