BASKETBALL OFFICERS FOR NEW YEAR
The Mayor. Mr. N. ,H. Bull, presided at the annual meeting of the P.B. Basketball Association held in the Gisborne Borough Council chambers on Monday night. The president, Mrs. G. H. Sceats, welcomed delegates from various teams.
The report and balance sheet, presented by the secretary, Miss M. McCallum, were adopted.
Mr. Bull paid a tribute to Mrs. Sceats, acknowledging the work she had done for the association and expressing his pleasure at her recovery from her recent illness, and ability to continue in her capacity as president. The election of officers resulted:— Patroness, Mrs. N. H. Bull; president, Mrs. G. H. Sceats; vice-presidents, Mesdames E. Aylward, Norberg, Osmond, Baker; secretary, Mrs. Davis; assistant secretary. Miss B. Wareham; tournament secretary, Miss M. McCallum; auditor, Mr. W. S. McKee; match secretary, Mrs. McLeod; treasurer, Mrs. Ashton; A Grade coach. Miss S. Cox; A Grade selectors, Mrs. McLeod and Miss Cox; B Grade - coach, Miss McCarthy; B Grade selectors, Mrs. Ashton and Miss McCarthy; C Grade coach, Miss Shields; C. Grade selector, Miss H. Nikora. An A Grade team will travel to Dunedin during the season if funds can be raised to cover expenses. It was decided that all A Grade captains should form a committee to raise funds for the trip.
