MUSCLE INJURY STOPS AUCKLAND PLANS FOR GORDON-SANDS BOUT

(P.A.) AUCKLAND, April 5. The Otahuhu professional welterweight boxer, Clarrie Gordon, pulled a muscle in his right knee in training and will be unable to meet the Australian, Clem Sands, at Auckland on April 20.

Gordon was by the Auck land Boxing Association’s doctor last night and it was stated he would not be fit to fight for a m- nth.

The association hopes to stage a fight early in May. In the meantime the Association is seeking a suitable opponent for Sands on April 29. It contracted to bring Sands over on April 17 and does not intend to alter this arrangement.
